Installation Files

Below is a list of all the installation files to get the units ready to update. Please click on the file needed for the Model for your unit. Once installed you will be able to return to this page and run the update file for your unit.

During the installation please make sure that the USB cable supplied is not connected to the computer until it has finished and restarted the computer.

First Time installation for Novus Piccolo

To get the Novus Piccolo updated you firstly need to install a USB Driver for the USB Cable supplied.

If you have any trouble installing the USB Driver then follow these step below:

First of all you MUST have the USB Cable unplugged from the computer.
Now click on the 'USB Driver' link above.
Once you click on 'Run' the installation will almost be instant.
You will now need to restart your computer.
On reboot, plug the USB Cable into the PC and the other end into your unit making sure it is in the 'D' mode.
A Found New Hardware message will appear. You MUST wait for this to finish before you start the update.
Now run an update from our website.

Please Note, you must run the update for your type of unit as the incorrect update will stop the unit from working.

First Time installation for Novus Rider, Delta & Delta PLUS (Windows XP and below)

To get the Novus Rider and Delta updated you firstly need to install a USB Driver for the USB Cable supplied.

If you have any trouble installing the USB Driver then follow these step below:

First of all you MUST have the USB Cable unplugged from the computer.
Now click on the "USB Driver" link above.
Clicking on "Next" when the Install Wizard appears untill you get to "Finish".
Once you click on "Finish" the computer will restart, so make sure have saved any work or information needed.
When the computer has booted up into Windows, now plug the USB Cable into a free USB socket.
A Found New Hardware message will appear. You MUST wait for this to finish before you start the update.
Novus Delta - Now plug the USB Cable intoyour unit making sure it is in the D/L mode and run the Database Update for the Novus Delta.
Novus Delta Plus - Now plug the USB Cable intoyour unit making sure it is in the D/L mode and run the Database Update for the Novus Delta.
Novus Rider - Now plug the USB Cable into your unit making sure it is in the D/L mode and turned OFF. Once it is plugged in both ends then turn the unit ON and run the Database Update for the Novus Rider.
Please Note, you must run the update for your type of unit as the incorrect update will stop the unit from working.

Installation & Update Guide - Novus Rider, Delta & Delta PLUS running Windows Vista

Use the same Installation Guide as above, but run the Windows Vista USB driver.

Installation & Update Guide - Novus Rider, Delta & Delta PLUS running Windows 7

Use the same installation guide as above, but run the Windows 7 USB Driver.

If after or duing the installing of the Win7 USB Driver you notice the computer mention that it is uninstalling the driver then please finish the installation, reboot the computer and re-install the USB driver again.

First Time installation for Novus Alpha.

To get the Novus Alpha updated you firstly need to install a USB Driver for the USB Cable supplied and the software needed to import the file into the unit.

Click on the link above to install the driver and software. (Please note that you must have the USB cable un-plugged from the computer before installation)

If you have any trouble installing the USB Driver & Softwarethen follow these steps below:

First of all you MUST have the USB Cable unplugged from the computer

Now click on the "Update Installer" link above.

Click "Next" on the installation screen until a message appears at the end asking to restart the Computer.

Once this is done you need to restart the computer before moving onto the next step.

Once it has booted up fully you will notice a new Icon on the desktop and in the Program List.

The Alpha Updater.exe is the software you will need to use to get the unit updating.

For the First Time Only when you plug the USB Cable into the computer and unit you will have to wait for a Found New Hardware message to appear.

You will also notice that the Alpha has also powered up and will be searching for a sat lock.

If you wait until the message changes to Hardware Installed and ready to use, you will now need to unplug the cable from the Novus Alpha and simply re-apply back into the unit.

You will now have noticed that the screen is blank on the unit, this is correct and whenever an update is performed there must be a blank screen.

Update Guide

Once the cable in plugged in and the unit is blank, you will need to return here to the top of the page to save the latest database file for the Novus Alpha.
We recommend saving the file to your Desktop to that you can find it easily.
Now from your Desktop or Program List you will need to run the Alpha Updater.exe.
On the screen that appears to will see a "Browse" button.
Click on this button and find the database file that you saved in the previous step.
The file will be called "alphanew.mdb".
Once you have clicked on the file then "Open" the update will start and the Novus Alpha will display a Download Image and verbal say "Database Update Mode".
The update has now started and on completion will disappear.
